A Brief History of Health Care Reform
In the 1900s, the United States was subjected to some small proposals to bring in national health reform. Campaigning was carried out in eight states for compulsory health insurance. In the 1920s, further proposals were made for group medicine and voluntary insurance, but opposition was raised.
